Finding the right S8 D5 listing
Three questions decide which D5 part you need. Does the car have a particulate filter? UK and European cars listed as OPF/GPF take the filter-back system, sports cat downpipes or downpipes with cat bypass. If it has no filter, is it the standard wheelbase saloon or the long-wheelbase (LWB) model? Both non-OPF US and rest-of-world versions have their own sports cat downpipes and downpipes with cat bypass, and the LWB also has a cat-back system. Finally, choose resonated for a quieter cruise or non-resonated for more sound.
S8 D4 4.0 TFSI parts and catalysts
The 2013 to 2018 D4 has a cat-back system, hi-flow sports cats and cat replacement pipes. The hi-flow cats keep a catalyst. The cat replacement pipes, like the D5 downpipes with cat bypass, remove it: they are for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test. S8 systems mostly use larger GT-115 round tips in polished, Cerakote black, titanium, brushed titanium or burnt titanium, plus a JET-115 in carbon fibre. One listing uses GT-100 tips instead. See every style in our tip guide.
