Milltek exhausts for the Ford Focus ST, Focus RS and Mondeo ST220
The Focus ST spans three generations. The Mk2 ST 225 has a cat-back and sports cat or de-cat downpipes. The Mk3 ST 2.0 EcoBoost hatch and estate have cat-backs and sports cat, HJS Tuning ECE or de-cat downpipes, and the 2.0 TDCi diesel ST has its own cat-back. The OPF/GPF equipped Mk4 ST 2.3 EcoBoost takes a filter-back, with downpipes and GPF/OPF bypass pipes alongside.
The Mk2 Focus RS 2.5T 305PS has a cat-back, downpipes and turbo-back systems with or without a sports cat, and both Mk2 models have a locking bolt kit. The Mk3 RS 2.3 EcoBoost 4WD adds Active Valve Control to its cat-back and sports cat, HJS Tuning ECE or de-cat downpipes. The Mondeo ST220 3.0 V6 (2002 to 2007) has a cat-back.
Fiesta ST, Fiesta and Puma ST: cat-back, filter-back or downpipe?
The Fiesta ST range starts with the Mk6 ST 150, which has a full system with sports cat, a hi-flow sports cat, a free-flow manifold, a cat replacement pipe and a cat-back. The Mk7 and Mk7.5 ST 182 and ST200 have a cat-back, a rear silencer delete and downpipes. Mk8 and Mk8.5 ST 1.5 EcoBoost parts are split at September 2020, so check your build date: each version has a cat-back, downpipe, GPF/OPF bypass, Active Valve Control and a Maxton dual outlet kit.
Non-ST Fiestas run from the Mk6 Zetec S to the Mk8 1.0T ST-Line, including the 155PS Hybrid. OPF/GPF equipped Mk8 cars take a filter-back, which leaves the factory particulate filter in place. The Puma ST 1.5 200PS and 1.0 170PS each have a filter-back and Active Valve Control, and the 1.5 also has a downpipe and a GPF/OPF bypass.
Ford Mustang S550 and S650 cat-back systems
For the S550 Mustang there are cat-backs for the 5.0 V8 GT before and after the 2019 facelift, the Mach 1 and the supercharged Shelby GT500, and the S650 is covered for the GT and Dark Horse. Most V8 systems offer an H-pipe or X-pipe, with centre sections using a resonator or straight pipes; the pre-facelift GT comes valved or non-valved.
The 2.3 EcoBoost Fastback, in S550 and S650 form, has a cat-back plus a sports cat downpipe and a de-cat downpipe; the S650 cat-back offers twin or quad outlets.
Ford F-150, Ranger, Bronco, Maverick and Mustang Mach-E
The F-150 range covers the Raptor 3.5 V6 EcoBoost in Gen 2 and Gen 3 form, the supercharged Raptor R 5.2 V8, and 2021-on SuperCrew 5.5ft bed, Tremor and Single Cab Work Truck models with the 3.5 EcoBoost or 5.0 V8, several in Road+ part resonated or Race form. The four-door Bronco 2.3 and 2.7 EcoBoost has a cat-back, and the Maverick 2.0T AWD has a secondary cat-back and a secondary catalyst bypass.
For the Ranger, the Raptor 3.0 V6 petrol has a cat-back and Active Valve Control, the T9 2.0 and 3.0 diesels have axle-backs and the 2.3 PHEV has two systems. Earlier TDCi Rangers, the 2.0 EcoBlue Raptor and the electric Mustang Mach-E use Active Sound Control: sound generator kits that add sound without changing the exhaust.
Road legality, remaps and tips for your Ford
De-cat downpipes, the Mk6 Fiesta ST cat replacement pipe and the Focus RS turbo-backs without a sports cat are for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test; sports cat and HJS Tuning ECE downpipes keep a catalyst. Most downpipes need an ECU remap. GPF/OPF bypass pipes, the Fiesta 1.0T cast race cat downpipe, the Maverick catalyst bypass and Race systems are louder, motorsport-oriented options.
