Milltek exhausts for the Mercedes-AMG A35 and A45
The A-Class makes up half of this collection. For the A35 AMG W177 from 2019, Milltek lists the hatch and the saloon separately, and the saloon is split again into cars with and without a petrol particulate filter (OPF/GPF). OPF/GPF cars take a cat-back system, while non-OPF/GPF saloons can also have a front-pipe-back system. Hatch owners can buy replacement Milltek tips on their own, listed under two part numbers.
The earlier A45 AMG W176 (2012-2018) has a cat-back system, and the A45 and A45 S W177 hatch (2019-2021) takes a particulate filter-back system that keeps the factory filter in place.
Mercedes-AMG CLA35 and CLA45 exhaust options
Listings for the CLA35 AMG from 2019 cover both the Coupe and the Shooting Brake, so the deciding factor is the particulate filter, not the body style. OPF/GPF and non-OPF/GPF cars each have a cat-back system, and cars without a filter can also take a front-pipe-back system. The original CLA45 AMG (2013-2018) has a cat-back, while the CLA45 and 45 S (2020-2021) use a particulate filter-back system.
Valved, resonated or race: setting up your AMG system
Many four-cylinder AMG systems are offered valved or non-valved. Milltek's Active Valve Control is listed for the OPF/GPF A35 hatch and saloon, the OPF/GPF CLA35 and the C63 S W205 saloon, and you will find the modules in our electronics range.
Resonated systems keep an extra silencer, so they are quieter, with less drone at a motorway cruise; on some listings the resonated version is marked EC Approved. Non-resonated and Race non-resonated options are louder. The GPF/OPF bypass pipes for OPF/GPF A35 and CLA35 cars, and the resonator bypass pipes for the non-OPF/GPF A35 saloon and CLA35, are louder, motorsport-oriented parts rather than everyday road options.
Mercedes-AMG C63, G63 and AMG GT V8 exhausts
For the 4.0 bi-turbo V8 C63 S W205 saloon (non-GPF, from 2015) there are rear silencers, a sports cat downpipe and downpipes with cat bypass. The OPF/GPF C63 S Coupe from 2019 has rear silencers of its own, and the 2007-2011 C63 AMG and C63 AMG Coupe can take a secondary catalyst bypass.
The G63 has three cat-back systems: the W463 in UK/EU OPF/GPF form from 2019, the W463 in rest-of-world non-OPF/GPF form (2019-2024) and the new W465 from 2024. Each comes with GT-90 tips in Polished, Brushed Titanium, Burnt Titanium or Cerakote Black, or JET-90 Carbon Fibre; compare them on our tip styles page. The AMG GT, GT S and GT C Coupe and Roadster (2015-2019, non-OPF/GPF) have a single cat-back system.
Downpipes, sports cats and de-cats for Mercedes-AMG
Sports cat downpipes are listed for the A35, the A45 W176 and W177, the CLA35, the CLA45 and the C63 S W205, with large-bore sports cat downpipes for the OPF/GPF A35 under two part numbers. These keep a catalyst in the system, as do the HJS Tuning ECE downpipes for the A45 W176.
Decat downpipes for the A35, A45, CLA35 and CLA45, and the C63 downpipes with cat bypass, are for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test. Most downpipe installs need an ECU remap to run properly.
