Choosing a Milltek exhaust for the F90 M5

The F90 is split into three build periods. Non-OPF cars from 2018-20 have an axle-back, Active Valve Control and an active centre H-pipe front silencer bypass. Cars with an OPF/GPF from 2020-21 and LCI cars from 2021 on each have their own cat-back, filter-back system, Active Valve Control, GPF/OPF bypass and OPF/GPF bypass module, so check whether your car is pre-LCI or LCI before ordering.

Some F90 parts are offered to fit either a Milltek axle-back or the OE one; the OE option requires cutting the factory system.

G90 and G99 M5 hybrid: UK/EU or NAS?

The latest twin turbo hybrid M5 (2025 on) is listed by market. UK and European cars have an axle-back, Active Valve Control and a GPF/OPF bypass, while North American and rest-of-world cars have their own axle-back and a secondary catalyst bypass.

F10 M5, bypass parts and tips

For the F10 M5 saloon with its twin turbo V8 (2011-16), there is a single F10 cat-back. Across the range, GPF/OPF bypass pipes and bypass modules are louder, motorsport-oriented parts, and the secondary catalyst bypass is for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test.

Tips come in GT-90, GT-100 and GT-115 designs in polished, Cerakote Black, brushed and burnt titanium, plus JET-100 carbon fibre; compare them on the tip styles page. The M8, also listed with a 4.4 V8 twin turbo, has its own M8 collection.
