Polo GTI 1.8T, 1.4 TSI and 1.8 TSI exhausts
The Polo GTI 1.8T (2006-2010) has a cat-back and a cat replacement pipe. The 1.4 TSI 180PS with 7-speed DSG (2010-2015) has a cat-back and a de-cat downpipe. For the 1.8 TSI (2015-2018) there is a cat-back plus a choice of sports cat or de-cat downpipe. The Polo R WRC of 2013-2014 has its own cat-back.
AW Polo GTI 2.0 TSI: GPF, pre-facelift or facelift?
The AW five-door Polo GTI is split three ways. Non-GPF/OPF cars (2018-2019) have a cat-back, a cast race cat downpipe and a de-cat downpipe. Pre-facelift GPF/OPF cars (2019-2021) have a cat-back plus sports cat and de-cat downpipes, and the facelift GPF/OPF car from 2021 has its own cat-back. The AW Polo 1.5 TSI with GPF/OPF (2019 on) has a cat-back too. Use the registration lookup above if you are unsure which version you own.
Choosing parts for your Polo GTI
Sports cat downpipes keep a catalyst, while de-cats and cat replacement pipes are for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test. Downpipes usually need an ECU remap and can be ordered to fit the OE system or a Milltek cat-back; see manifolds, de-cats and sports cats. Resonated systems are quieter with less drone than non-resonated. Tips include GT-80 and GT-90 in polished, Cerakote Black, titanium or burnt titanium, and carbon fibre JET-90; see our tip styles page.
