Scirocco R exhausts: cat-back or turbo-back
For the Scirocco R, start with the cat-back if you want more sound while keeping the standard downpipe. Going further, there are three turbo-back listings, two of them with a sports cat, and the downpipes on their own come as a sports cat, cast race cat or de-cat downpipe. Most downpipes need an ECU remap. Resonated and non-resonated versions are offered, with resonated the quieter choice and less drone on the motorway.
Scirocco GT petrol and diesel
The GT 2.0 TSI 200PS has a cat-back, a cast race cat downpipe and a de-cat downpipe. The GT 2.0 TDI CR 170 has a single filter-back system, which fits behind the diesel particulate filter. De-cats are for off-road and competition use only and fail an MOT emissions test; the full list is in manifolds, de-cats and sports cats. Tips include GT-80, GT-100 and polished or Cerakote Black ovals. Volkswagen's earlier coupé, the Corrado, has its own collection.
