Transporter T5 exhausts by engine, 2003-2015
Early T5 vans and Caravelles (2003-2009) have cat-backs for the 1.9 TDI in 85PS and 104PS form and the 2.5 TDI in 130PS and 174PS form. From 2010 to 2015, the 2.0 in 84PS, 102PS and 140PS form takes a cat-back, while the 180PS 2.0 BiTDI takes a filter-back system.
Every T5 listing is split into SWB and LWB, and each one covers both 2WD and 4MOTION, so pick your wheelbase and engine output and the rest follows.
Transporter T6 and T6.1: diesel and petrol
The T6 2.0 BiTDI in 150PS, 180PS and 204PS form (2015 on) has a filter-back system in SWB and LWB lengths, for 2WD and 4MOTION. The T6 2.0 TSI petrol in 150PS and 204PS form (2017 on, 2WD only) has a cat-back, again in both lengths. For the T6.1, Milltek lists a filter-back for the SWB 199PS 2.0 TDI from 2019, in 2WD and 4MOTION form, for vans without a DPF valve.
Active Sound Control for the Transporter
Alongside the exhausts there are 12 Active Sound Control kits for the T5 and T6 diesels, split by wheelbase and engine in the same way. Active Sound Control is not an exhaust: it is an electronic sound generator that adds a sportier engine note to a quiet diesel. It is not listed for the T6 petrol or the T6.1.
Sound levels and tips for your Transporter
Most Transporter systems are offered resonated, the quieter choice with less drone on long motorway trips, or non-resonated for more presence, and a few add a part-resonated Road+ option. Tip choices include a discreet tailpipe for a low-key look, or twin ovals in polished, black or Cerakote Black; see tip styles. The Amarok and Caddy have their own diesel collections.
