Finding the right RS5 B9 or B9.5 listing
Check three details: body (Coupé or Sportback), generation (B9 or the facelifted B9.5) and whether the car has an OPF/GPF. Non-OPF B9 Coupés (2017 to 2019) and Sportbacks (2018 to 2019) have a cat-back, Active Valve Control, large-bore downpipes and cat replacement pipes. B9 Coupés and Sportbacks with an OPF/GPF (from 2019) have a cat-back, Active Valve Control, hi-flow sports cats and a de-cat downpipe. Non-OPF B9.5 Coupés and Sportbacks have a cat-back, Active Valve Control, large-bore downpipes and cat replacement pipes.
The B8 Coupé (2010 to 2015) has a single cat-back system.
Sound, tips and valve control for the RS5
RS5 cat-backs are offered resonated, which is quieter with less drone on a motorway run, non-resonated, Road+ part resonated or in a US-spec resonated form. They finish in RS-style oval tips in polished, Cerakote black, titanium or burnt titanium; see Milltek exhaust tip styles. Active Valve Control, from our electronics range, is listed for every B9 and B9.5 version.
RS5 downpipes and catalysts: what is road legal?
Hi-flow sports cats keep a catalyst. Cat replacement pipes and de-cat downpipes do not: they are for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test. Large-bore and de-cat downpipes usually need an ECU remap. The catalyst and downpipe choices differ between OPF and non-OPF cars, so match the listing to your car first. The RS4 Avant shares the 2.9 V6 Turbo; its parts are on the Audi RS4 range.
