Choosing a cat-back for the S7 4.0 TFSI
The 2012 to 2018 S7 cat-back is offered resonated, for a quieter cabin with less motorway drone, or non-resonated for more volume. It can be ordered valved or non-valved, with GT-100 tips in polished, Cerakote black or titanium; our tip styles page shows the finishes. A valved system pairs with Milltek's Active Valve Control, and if you already own the non-valved version, the ValveSonic kit for the S7 adds valves to it.
S7 downpipes and what they mean for the MOT
Sports cat downpipes and downpipes with cat bypass are each listed in two versions: one to suit the standard exhaust and one to suit a Milltek cat-back. The sports cat versions retain a catalyst. The cat bypass versions remove it, so they are for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test. Plan on an ECU remap with either. Active Sound Control for the S7 C8 TDI
For the C8 S7 Sportback 3.0 TDI from 2019, Milltek's Active Sound Control uses a sound generator to give the diesel a deeper, sportier note, with the standard exhaust left in place. The 4.0 TFSI parts for the earlier car closely follow those for the S6.
