Choosing a Milltek exhaust for the G22 M440i
UK and European M440i coupés have an OPF/GPF, and their pre-LCI listings (2020-25) include a filter-back system, a cat-back, Active Valve Control, HJS Tuning ECE downpipes, a sports cat downpipe and a de-cat downpipe. North American and rest-of-world cars (NAS/ROW, 2021-25) have their own cat-back plus sports cat and de-cat downpipes. Check whether your car has a particulate filter before choosing between them.
There is also an older listing for HJS ECE downpipes titled M440i Coupé and Gran Coupé, xDrive or not, for 2017-19. It predates the G22, so check its fitment notes or use the reg lookup to make sure it suits your car.
428i Coupé exhausts: auto or manual?
The F32 428i Coupé (N20, non-xDrive, no tow bar) is split by gearbox: automatic cars from 2014-16 and manual cars from 2014-18 each have their own cat-back, sports cat downpipe and de-cat downpipe. Outlet choices include an OE-style twin with 76mm tips and a 435i-style dual layout with 90mm tips.
Downpipes, cats and sound for the 4 Series
HJS ECE and sports cat downpipes keep a catalyst; de-cat downpipes are for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test.
