Milltek exhausts for the classic M3: E30, E36, E46 and V8
The E30 M3 has two full systems, one with a hi-flow sports cat and one with a cat bypass. The E36 M3 3.0 and 3.2 has a cat-back. For the E46 there are cat-backs and rear silencers in separate versions for the 3.2 coupé and cabriolet and for the M3 CSL, so pick the one that matches your car.
The 4.0 V8 cars are listed by body: E90 saloon (2007-11), E92 coupé and E93 convertible (both 2007-13). Each has its own cat-back and sports cat downpipe.
Choosing a Milltek exhaust for the F80 M3
F80 listings are split by the particulate filter. Non-OPF cars built 2014-18 have the fullest choice: a cat-back, an equal length cat-back upgrade kit, ValveSonic+, Active Valve Control, sports cat downpipes, a de-cat downpipe and a secondary catalyst bypass. The 2019-20 Competition and CS with an OPF/GPF have their own cat-back, Active Valve Control and GPF/OPF bypass, so check your build year before ordering.
G80 and G81 M3: UK/EU or North American?
For the S58 G80 saloon and G81 Touring, including xDrive, UK and European cars with an OPF/GPF (2020 on) have a filter-back system, an axle-back, Active Valve Control, HJS Tuning ECE downpipes, a sports cat downpipe, a de-cat downpipe, downpipes with cat bypass and a GPF/OPF bypass. Some of these are offered to suit the OE axle-back or a Milltek one, with twin 76mm or 102mm mid pipes and an X-pipe option.
For North American and rest-of-world G80s without a filter (2021 on), the collection has a secondary catalyst bypass. The coupé versions of these cars are in the BMW M4 collection, and the M340i and other non-M cars are under the 3 Series.
Road or track: M3 downpipes, cats and sound
HJS ECE downpipes, sports cat downpipes and the E30 full system with sports cat keep a catalyst in place. De-cat downpipes, cat bypass pipes and secondary catalyst bypass parts are for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test, and GPF/OPF bypass pipes are louder, motorsport-oriented options.
