Jetta Mk4 1.8T and 1.9 TDI
The Mk4 1.8T 2WD has a cat-back plus a sports cat or de-cat downpipe. The 1.9 TDI 130 and 150 has a cat-back with a choice of standard or large-bore downpipe. In Europe this generation was sold as the Bora, which has its own listings.
Jetta GLI Mk5, Mk6 and Mk7
The Mk5 GLI has the most choice: a cat-back, a turbo-back with sports cat, cast HJS sports cat and cast race cat downpipes, and a de-cat downpipe. The Mk6 GLI has a cat-back and three turbo-back listings, two of them with a sports cat.
For the Mk7 GLI (2019 on) there is a cat-back plus a sports cat or de-cat downpipe. If you also run a hatchback, the Golf GTI collection covers it.
Downpipes and sound for the Jetta
HJS and sports cat downpipes keep a catalyst, race cats are a motorsport choice, and de-cats are for off-road and competition use only and will fail an MOT emissions test. Most downpipes need an ECU remap, and many can be ordered to fit the OE system or a Milltek cat-back. Resonated systems are quieter with less drone, non-resonated louder. Tips include GT-80, GT-100 and carbon fibre JET-100; see tip styles.
